Universal Studios by Bus

Here is how to get to Universal Studios in Los Angeles from Venice Beach Hostel for only $2.60 per person. (Exact fare required.)

1. Go to the MTA bus stop at the Venice Post Office, at the Southwest corner of Pacific and Windward. To walk there:

   Exit the hostel and turn right. Cross Windward St. (to get to the Global Gossip cafe), then cross Pacific Ave. and continue walking 1 block East to the traffic circle. Then turn right -- the bus stop is a covered bench in front of the building.

   Board the MTA #33 "Union Station" bus to downtown Los Angeles. This bus comes every 30 minutes.

2. Ask the bus driver where to get off for a transfer to MTA #424 for Universal Studios. The ride to the transfer point takes 60 minutes.
3. At the transfer point (Main St. and 12th in the center of Los Angeles), walk west on 12th St. to Broadway Ave.
4. Board the MTA #424 "Universal City / San Fernando Valley" bus, heading North on Broadway Ave.
5. Ask the bus driver where to get off for Universal Studios.
6. At your destination (Ventura Blvd. and Lankershim Blvd.), get off and walk North on Lankershim for 1 block to the Universal Studios entrance.

You can return to Venice Beach Hostel in the same way. This trip takes around 2 hours.
